On this post we are going to show you what a kite day in Costa Rica looks like.

If you are staying at our beach resort Nandel, you will wake up in the morning and enjoy a very nice energetic breakfast to start the day. The tipical costa rican breakfast is called gallo pinto and consist of rice and beans, eggs, cheese and tortilla. Of course you can choose other options like the classic continental breakfast.

Since we are located right on the beach, after breakfast you will be ready to go!! If you need a lesson we will be happy to help you progress on your skills using the most qualified instructor and the best technology by bbtalkin, we use two way radio communication, so that you can always speak with your instructor. If you need to rent gear we have teh best Reedin and Eleveight gear.

After the morning kite session is time to enjoy lunch at our restaurant, and chil by the pool.

Now if you still have energy it´s time for the sunset session.

After enjoying teh sunset it’s beer time while dinner gets ready!

Eat, kite, sleep. Repeat.

A new law will allow tourists who can work remotely to do it in Costa Rica. Law 10.008 known as the “Digital Nomads Law” was approved last August and establishes the entry and stay conditions for foreign professionals.
People who wish to telecommute from Costa Rica can do so through a one-year work visa, extendable for another year. The visa would also cover the families and partners of the remote worker. Also, your driver’s license is valid for as long as you are allowed to work from Costa Rica.
Currently, the legal permanence of a tourist in the country cannot be extended for more than ninety days, according to the provisions of Migration. In addition, digital nomads arriving in Costa Rica will be able to benefit from a single tax rate.
One of the greatest advantages of working remotely is the flexibility of schedules and the freedom of location. An inspired worker reaches his goals more easily. On the other hand, being able to save time and travel costs allows the worker to better reconcile family, social and leisure life. Costa Rica COVID travel requirements

Good news!! Costa Rica is fully opened to international traveler.

As per today Costa rica COVID travel requirements are different depending on:

  • Vaccinated people: You will not need anything else to enter the country, just bring your vaccination certificate
  • Non vaccinated people: You will be asked o get a health insurance to be allowed to enter the country.

In both cases you will be required to fill this form before arriving to costa Rica: https://salud.go.cr/

You will get a QR code that will be asked on the immigration control when landing and before entering the country.

Of course depending on the country you are coming from you will need to check if you need a VISA or other requirements.

Kite Season in Costa Rica

The Kite Season in Costa Rica starts in November and last until May. The best months to kite or high season are form mid December to end of March, during this time the chances of getting wind are almost 100%. Being one of the windiest spots in the world if not the windiest as we describe on this post.

Kite Season in Costa Rica

During the other months November, April and May it is considered mid season. The wind is not as reliable as in high season but it is still very good. The wind is also a bit lighter. You can see the wind stats: here.

For the rest of the time it is considered low season. It is rainy season and the wind is very inconsistent.
